My son is 61/2 and is not dry at night

My son is now 61/2 and has never been dry at night. We have tried lifting him, reducing his fluid intake, increasing his fluid intake, and nothing seems to work. He wear a drynite everynight and most nights he has wet them through too. He has become very self aware and gets very upset and feels like a baby, however he still lays there in the morning in a wet bed! We have always remained very level headed and tell him not to worry and that one day he will just grow out of it. Can anyone give me a top tip and light and the end of the tunnel?

ASD boy aged 5yrs

My 5yr old son has ASD and requires a nappy every night. He soils and wets at varying times, both awake and asleep, yet is totally unconcerned by it. How can I encourage some form of progress towards dry/clean nights?

help or hindrance

My 11year old son has always wet the bed! i can count on one hand the dry nights he has had! he has been on a tour of doctors and hospitals, been on medication, tried the alarm and nothing works. He has always worn drynites pajama pants apart from one time on the advice of the school nurse we took him out of them for the summer. He developed a really bad nappy rash skin condition because of the urine and we were changing his bed at 12am before we went to bed as it was already soaking and again in the morning. We put him back in the nappy pants as i couldn’t cope with the washing, his sleep was being disturbed and because of the rash. He has been in them ever since. Am i helping him or hindering him to become dry? I feel i have given him a bad habit! Is there an age where he will want to try and stop? Please help

5yr old daughter wet everynight

My 5 1/2 year old is stillin nappy pants at night only ever having 2 or 3 dry nights . My 3 yr old son is showing signs that he might be dry at night soon. I don’t want to praise my son or make a big deal of it at the risk of upseting my daughter. Should I just see how things go with her or should I be seeking medical advise?? She did see a dr at the hospital about 1 yr ago as she’d had a couple of urine infections in a short time. but nothing was wrong.

when will we see the light at the end of the tunnel

My 12 year old boy is still bedwetting and has done since he was out of nappies. He is on desmomelts x2 per night and has been checked out for bladder problems but just when we start having a few dry nights in a row he wets again. My son gets very frustrated with his problem and usually has to wake up earlier than most as a shower is required every morning before school. My son is under a paediatrician as he has been diagnosed with mild asperger syndrome but as yet has not been statemented and if my son has his way he wont be as he wants to appear the same as his friends. I have never had any help with the cost of incontinence aids bed protection or sheet and quilt washing and as he gets bigger already 6 foot 11 stone and size 11 shoe its getting increasingly difficult. If anyone can shed some advise i would be grateful. For this child to be able to do trips away from home or sleepovers would be the best but at the moment we stand no chance. Thanks for listening

dry night pants or go without?

Hi, My 3 year old is dry in the day now and he desperately wants to be like his big brother and just wear pj’s at night with no dry nights pants on. Is it best to persevere with the dry nights pants until they are totally dry in the morning or let him go without and hope wanting a wee will wake him up? :-)

She’s such a heavy sleeper

Hi, Please help us…..My Daughter Honor is now 8 years old. Honor wets the bed every night with only an occaisional dry one. She suffers and it breaks our hearts. We have tried all sorts and have even been seeing a doctors (MIR scans and all sorts of invasive tests) The last two nights have been the worst I have ever seen. We use protective covers on the bedding. Last night I woke Honor when I found that she was completely soaked through to the point that she was pretty much in a puddle. There ws so much – how could she hold that in? I stripped the bed – cleaned her down – re-made the bed and she went back to sleep. In the morning – 6 hours later – she was in the same condition – soaked through. We wnat her to have everything – be confident but we are not getting anywhere and no-one seems to help. Please please help her – I want a happy confident daughter. Our best regards and hope Craig and Honor.
