My son is 61/2 and is not dry at night

My son is now 61/2 and has never been dry at night. We have tried lifting him, reducing his fluid intake, increasing his fluid intake, and nothing seems to work. He wear a drynite everynight and most nights he has wet them through too. He has become very self aware and gets very upset and feels like a baby, however he still lays there in the morning in a wet bed! We have always remained very level headed and tell him not to worry and that one day he will just grow out of it. Can anyone give me a top tip and light and the end of the tunnel?

One year dry and now my 5 yr old daughters is wetting the bed again

18 months ago we moved out of our house and in with my in laws. The very first night my daughter wet the bed. This has carried on, sometimes once a week and sometimes every night!! She then started school this september and her teacher helped me by giving her a sticker every morning that she was dry. Within 10 days she had 7 stickers!! Brilliant!! Now that the stickers have stopped she has been wetting the bed every night for the last four weeks!! I am going to ask her teacher to help again but just wanted to know if i should be doing anything else as well? Should i take her to the doctors? She is a little embarassed about it and doesn’t want to wet the bed anymore! Bless her!

bedwetting

Does it really depend on how much liquid has been drunk throughout the day as we always limit the last drink in the evening to about 7pm and always make sure the children go the toilet before bed and more often then not there is still wet nappies in the morning. My daughter is 7 and my son is 5. I never had this problem with my 12 year old. I also have a 7 month old baby who I am hoping wont need nappies at night at age 5 and 7!

Dry in day, but not at night

Hi, My son is 4 and has been dry in the daytime since he was 2, however night seems to be another matter! He has periods when he’s dry for 3 days at a time, then weeks when he’s wet every morning. We’ve tried lifting him onto the toilet, a reward chart and trying him with pull-ups, normal pants, washable training pants and no pants at all – nothing seems to be working. Is he still a bit young? Should we just leave it for a while and try again when he’s a bit older? Many thanks.

My 4 year old wets the bed twice a night. Help!!

My son has been dry in the day for two years now but is such a heavy sleeper that he just doesn’t wake in the night. I take him to the toilet before he goes to bed and again before I go to bed but he will still be soaking wet in the morning. My other sons never wet the bed so its like being a novice again. Is there anything I can do?

help or hindrance

My 11year old son has always wet the bed! i can count on one hand the dry nights he has had! he has been on a tour of doctors and hospitals, been on medication, tried the alarm and nothing works. He has always worn drynites pajama pants apart from one time on the advice of the school nurse we took him out of them for the summer. He developed a really bad nappy rash skin condition because of the urine and we were changing his bed at 12am before we went to bed as it was already soaking and again in the morning. We put him back in the nappy pants as i couldn’t cope with the washing, his sleep was being disturbed and because of the rash. He has been in them ever since. Am i helping him or hindering him to become dry? I feel i have given him a bad habit! Is there an age where he will want to try and stop? Please help

Lifting?

My son has just turned five and still wears a pull-up every night, and only about once or twice a week does he wake up with it dry in the morning. Is it worth ‘lifting’ him when we go to bed, or will that just train him to wee at that time of night, rather than hold it all night? He’s a very heavy sleeper, which I think is why he’s still wet at night. He’s totally toilet-trained when awake!

Nappies at night

My little girl who is 3 is still in nappies at night. For about a month she was dry but is now soaking wet in the morning. She suffers from thrush and “sore bottom” and have been adviced to get her out of nappies. How do I do this as she sleeps so soundly since starting pre school and doesn’t generally wake up.

Bed Wetting

My daughter is 5 in December and is not dry at night time, her nappies are so wet in the morning and sometimes leak. She seems to go to the toilet more at night than in the daytime. Help, what can we do?
