My daughter is 6 and has been dry at night for well over a year & a half. However since Sept we have had 3 separate spells of continual bedwetting….some weeks 5 nights in a row and even twice in one night. After each spell we have a few weeks of being dry again and then it starts up again. The first spell she was tested and found to have a urine infection but the second 2 spells she has tested normal. I have spoken to the Doctor, re: what to so next, but it appears we cannot be referred until she is 8? Have talked to her re: any worries but there doesn’t seem to be anything significant. She is finding it upsetting & we are at our wits end and worried….can you give advice on what we should do next ???

My 12 year old (13 in August) has never been dry at night. It is a very similar story to the others I have read, we have tried the tablets, alarms, the hospitals etc and nothing works.

A few years ago I was told to stop him wearing the pajama pants as it was holding him back but after about 1 year of pretty much continuous bedwetting I put him back in them.

There is still some mornings when he has even wet through the pull ups and soaked his bed

It is so frustating, the poor boy has never been on a sleepover to anyone out of the family and has never been on a school trip.

We keep being told he will probably grow out of it?! We are currently waiting for an appointment to have an ultrasound so they can see if there is any physical reason why he isn’t dry.

We are both desperate for it to end!

We have 4 year old twins who have been potty trained since they were 2. Our daughter has never had any problems with staying dry during the day or night but my son is very different. He occassionally wets himself during the daytime but at night we have real issues. It is very rare for him to wake up dry and he also soils himself with alarming frequency. He has been checked for various medical conditions by doctors but they have told us that it is just a case of perseverance. We really want him to be out of nappies by the time he goes to school in September but it seems like a long road ahead. Any advice?
